As a legal nurse consultant and executive leader with 29 years of diverse clinical, education, and administrative experience in ambulatory and acute care settings, Mrs. Toledo has demonstrated a passion for driving excellent outcomes by assessing conditions and implementing appropriate interventions. She is a motivated professional nurse who works well on her own and understands the pressure and deadlines faced by attorneys.
Mrs. Toledo established her career in the United States in 2002 as a post-cath-lab Registered Nurse (RN). Prior experiences included working as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Mental Health at the Clinica Universitaria de Navarra (Spain).
She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) at the University of Navarra (Spain) in 1995, her Clinical Nurse Specialist in Mental Health Master (CNSMH) at the University of Navarra (Spain) in 1997, her Master of Science in Nursing Administration (MSN) at California State University, Los Angeles in 2013, and her Master of Science in Health Care Management (MSHCM) at California State University, Los Angeles in 2015.
In addition, Mrs. Toledo is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) with the National Association of Healthcare Quality (NAHCQ) and obtained her Legal Nurse Consultant certificate from California State University, Fullerton. She is currently in the process of obtaining her Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) from the University of Texas Arlington.
In her former position as Executive Director of Patient Relations, she spearheaded the examination of complaints and grievances in collaboration with the Quality Improvement and Risk Management departments. She was responsible for generating reports and timelines derived from reviews of medical records, encompassing summaries of prescriptions and care plan strategies. These efforts aimed to identify key medical incidents, assess the validity of complaints and grievances, and ensure compliance with established standards of care.
Mrs. Toledo has actively participated in national and international nursing conferences as a presenter such as the VIZIENT patient facilitated services annual conference or the National Association of Hispanic Nurses (NAHN) in the discussion of topics that include patient safety, equity, access to care, medication/medical errors, and teamwork. She published several case studies/articles throughout her professional career, such as the patient visitation program at the Journal of International and Interdisciplinary Business Research Symposium, connecting patient care with philanthropy in the Journal of the Association for Healthcare, and the impact of economic downturn in the proceedings of the L.A.-Manila-Guangzhou international conference.
Mrs Toledo is currently an active Board Member at the National Association of Hispanic Nurses, LA Chapter, and she has demonstrated her altruistic ability through her international travel by supporting and promoting a medical mission abroad in the Peruvian Amazon, Iquitos, (Peru).
